The Gower is a particularly lovely section of the Wales Coastal Path and The Penthouse is well situated for a wide range of walks, to explore the coast or the inland river and upland areas of the peninsula.
The Penthouse has details of walks to suit all tastes and energy levels, from gentle strolls on well surfaced paths to more challenging hikes.
Watersports & Beaches
Swansea and Gower have some beautiful beaches that are perfect for watersports.
Swansea Bay has a new Beach and Watersports Centre offering activities from power kiting to beach volleyball.
When it’s too cold to swim in the sea Swansea has the only Olympic sized swimming pool in Wales, or if that seems too energetic there is a leisure pool complete with water slides at the leisure centre.
As part of the National Cycle Network and Celtic Trail West, Swansea Bay offers a range of traffic-free cycle and mountain biking routes.
If you want adventure, don’t miss a trip to Afan Forest Park, recently listed as one of the world’s ‘Top 10 places to ride’ by Mountain Bike Rider magazine and top 10 for UK biking holidays by Mountain Biking UK magazine. The park's mountain biking trails all boast challenging single-track descents, monster climbs and spectacular views over the South Wales valleys.
Archery & Falconry
Perriswood Archery and Falconry Centre is situated in the heart of Gower over-looking Oxwich Bay. They offer a range of activities for all ages. Archery sessions are available all day, everyday either on the outdoor or indoor ranges.
They also offer falconry experiences from watching a display, handling their stunning birds of prey to half or whole day ‘hawk walks’ where you will have your own Harris hawk flying freely with you.
